A Kiss

A Kiss

Dedicated to all American Soldiers
Who Reject War

Covered the sky, all heavy clouds,
Platform filled with worried crowds.
Soldiers on and off the train,
War is driving man insane.

Goodbye, my darling, goodbye;
Please don’t cry and don’t sigh.
Train is whistling to take off;
To kiss and leave is so rough.

Don’t want to go, I am sent.
They’ll make me see my life end.
Oh, I am wearing the last white shirt,
clean, ironed, with no dirt.

My love, kiss me on the heart,
Before we get both apart.
When I am killed and there is a miss,
let them find a heart with a kiss.
